Editorial Reviews

The Maine formed in 2007 and through MySpace promotion, played their first gig in front of over 600 fans. Their first EP, "The Way We Talk", made the Hot Shot Debut on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #10. All this was accomplished with Internet buzz and before they had even performed outside their home state of Arizona. This release is a perfect blend of heartfelt lyrics, driving drums, and ridiculously catchy hooks. Look for them on tour this summer with Boys Like Girls/Good Charlotte and this fall with All Time Low/Mayday Parade.

Customer Reviews

annoyingly catchy, but so much fun!

To put it short: I love this album! It blew me away. I was expecting another typical pop rock/alternative album with a few catchy songs and a lot of filler. I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, it's not totally flawless since there are a few songs I don't really enjoy. But so far the perfect albums are Def Leppard's "Pyromania" and "Hysteria", which are legends for a reason. Even with a couple duds, this is by far the most enjoyable, fun album I own. So I'll give my song by song impressions:
Everything I Ask For: Didn't really strike me at first, but after a few plays it's catchiness really grew on me. It stands out from the rest of the album, partly because of the scream-along chorus.
We All Roll Along: Without a doubt my favorite. It's not the most unique song on the album, but it's well written and well executed. It's fast paced, upbeat, and in my opinion this song has the best vocals and melody. On a side note it's the most played song on my iTunes. This one doesn't seem to have the popularity of some others, but I can't see why. Just make sure to have your equalizer set right, favoring the bass otherwise this one can sound a little harsh.
I Must Be Dreaming: Another standout. Essentially the title track. Catchy lyrics, and just a generally sweet love song.
Girls Do What They Want: Meh... I didn't find it worthy of going on my iPod. Not exactly bad, just not my thing. The chorus is repeated way too many times.
Time To Go: Not a song you're going to just randomly think of to listen to, but one you won't skip if it comes up on shuffle.
This Is the End: See above
Whoever She Is: Another of my favorites. I think it's a beautiful song. One of the most unique songs on the album, and the only acoustic one.
Count 'em one two three: A generally good song, better than Time To Go and This Is The End, but still not a song that is going to stick in your head and will listen to constantly.
Kiss and Sell: See above
You Left Me: The most unique song. Sorta techno-rock. I love it
We'll All Be: Nothing special. One of the two I left off my iPod
Into Your Arms: The song that got me into The Maine. It has some of the best lyrics from this album. Probably the most well known song.

There isn't a tune on this whole CD that isn't worth at least a listen! I can't say that about many CD's I own. Check it out... if you like the modern style of Rock, you'll love this CD!

Can't Stop, Won't Stop Listening to The Maine

This album blew me away when I first heard it. Now I can't stop listening to it, and when I'm not listening to it, I have it stuck in my head. By far one of the best bands/albums in my music collection. I've been a fan since their EPs, and they've just been getting better. Here's a quick run down of songs that stuck/still stick out at me:
"Everything I Ask For"-Great way to open the album, get everyone dancing.

"Girls Do What They Want"-The lyrics are so fun and, again, great for dancing.

"I Must Be Dreaming"-Basically the title track: "Tell me that you love me/and it'll be alright/Are you thinking of me?/just come to me tonight/You know I need you just like you need me/Can't stop, won't stop, I must be dreaming".

"Count 'Em One, Two, Three"-A song off their EP The Way We Talk. My favorite off the EP. I'm so glad they put it on their album.

"You Left Me"-This has to be my favorite song, not only for the lyrics (which are amazing) but the music. This song sounds so different from all the other ones, different in a good way, which makes it that much more amazing.
